Kristi Street

 Kristi is a Master of Arts Screen course coordinator at the Australian Film Television and Radio School and has over fifteen years experience teaching media production in the University sector at a graduate and post-graduate level. Prior to her academic career, Kristi started out as an actor studying in London and performing on the West End. In 2000, Kristi received an Australia Council Emerging Artist Grant in directing which led her to a career directing and producing film, web and TV content for Foxtel Australia and her own production company, Boadicea Productions. Over several years in the media industry she has gained extensive experience in producing exciting short- and long-form content in a mixture of mediums. Kristi is the founding director of The Shoot Out 24 hour filmmaking festival that operated both in Australia and Internationally. She has completed her PhD, The Shoot Out – Targeting creativity: Exploring the creative process through the 24 hour filmmaking festival. This research proposes that The Shoot Out is a creative system in action, and supports the theoretical approach presented by the systems model of creativity (Csikszentmihalyi, 1999; Kerrigan, 2013).
