Workshop

Introduction to Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM) and driving down resolution limits

Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney

Friday 6th February 2026

Available Session Times: 10:00am - 12:00pm, 1:00pm - 3:00pm, 3:00pm - 5:00pm

SIM brings many benefits to biomedical imaging, namely considerably improved image resolution. Lattice SIM provides substantial image quality improvement but at the same time gently illuminates the sample. Join the workshop to get some exposure to the ZEISS Lattice SIM instrument, and appreciate how you can image samples very gently, for longer periods of time and with higher resolution, across larger fields of view!

Learning Outcomes

  • Experience the resolution improvement with Lattice SIM!

  • How can you gently illuminate your samples with the best imaging results?

  • Consider achieving resolution improvement at depth

Convenor Elizabeth Peterson, Zeiss
